Jode R. “Bud” Delp, 82 years of Honey Brook, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Paoli Hospital.
Bud was born in Reynoldsville, Pa. on Sunday, April 20, 1941. He was the son of the late James E. and Sarah E. (Daugherty) Delp. Bud was the husband of Joan M. (Seldomridge) Delp, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
He retired as a steelworker for Bethlehem Steel in Steelton. Prior to that he was employed at the former Grace Mines in Morgantown. Bud was known to many as a dedicated funeral director assistant for over 45 years with The Labs Funeral Home, Inc. of Honey Brook. He enjoyed hunting, his late dog, Jakey, and spending time with his beloved family. Bud was a member of the Honey Brook United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mabel L. Reese and Joyce E. Kier and his brother-in-law, Thomas Kier.
He is survived by his son, James R. and his wife Denise Delp of Honey Brook, his daughter Theresa M. and her husband, Jon Herbsleb of Douglassville, a brother-in-law, Patrick Reese of Honey Brook, a granddaughter, Ashley, and her husband Chris McTyier of Morgantown and two great granddaughters, Leah and Lydia McTyier.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 12 PM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc. 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Chris Labs officiating. Interment will follow at the Honey Brook Methodist Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM at the funeral home.
