My husband and I did not have the opportunity to get to know Leroy all that well. We moved next to him less than two years ago. But he was always friendly, had a wave and a few words to share. Our dog, Shelby, adored Leroy. She would sit at the fence line for hours watching him do yard work. And Leroy was always friendly to her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his daughter, Sonya, whom we know will miss her father dearly.

Thank you, Daddy, for everything you have ever taught me, given me and provided me all through my life. But most of all, for the strength and love you showed me. I am the person I am today because of you and Mom. You're together again and I will do my best to make you proud. It was my honor to have you home for your last days and to provide comfort and peace for you during that time. You are the strongest man I've ever known and am always proud to call you Dad. You're at peace now, and in God's arms receiving His grace, that you so rightfully deserve. I love you, Daddy, and will miss you until we see each other again. Rest easy and know that LeRoy, Ted and I will be okay with each other's love and support.
