John H. Mohl, Jr.

John H. Mohl, Jr., 93 years of Elverson, passed away at his home on Friday, November 10, 2023.

He was born in Port Carbon, Schuylkill County, PA on October 6, 1930. John was the son of the late John H. Mohl Sr. and Agnes E. (Krebs) Mohl. He was the husband of Betty Jean (Murray) Mohl, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage.

John was a graduate of Honey Brook High School. He served in the US Navy, as a Seabee, during the Korean War. John was a plumber with Keen and Company of Elverson. John was member of Twin valley Bible Chapel and Warwick Bible Chapel. John was a former member of the Twin Valley School Board, the Elverson Sewage Authority and served Elverson as a Republican Committee Man.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Mohl, and two sisters, Helena (Mohl) McEwen and Joan (Mohl) Forry.

Surviving is a son, David B. and his wife Pamela E. (Yates) Mohl of Bowmansville and a daughter, Cindy L. and her husband Robert E. Petrie, Jr. of Wilton, NY, a brother, Rev. Clyde Mohl of Bemus Point, NY and two sisters, Marlene Schlimme and Dawn “Cookie” Onushko both of Elverson. There are five grandchildren, Jason Petrie, Justin (Monica) Petrie, Jared (Anna) Petrie, Joshua (Anna) Petrie and Sarah E. Mohl. Also, there are 18 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 11AM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Rev. Clyde Mohl officiating. Interment will follow at Elverson United Brethren Cemetery. A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service.
