Frederick P. "Fred" McMullen Frederick P. “Fred” McMullen, 73 yrs., of Birdsboro, formerly of Elverson, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, following an illness.

He was born in Birdsboro on June 11, 1941.  Fred was the son of the late Pierre and Bessie (Evans) McMullen.  He was the husband of Janet E. (Levengood) McMullen, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.

Fred and his wife were the proprietors of McMullen’s Greenhouse in Elverson for 32 years. He was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church of Geigertown, the Twin Valley(formerly the Elverson Fire Company) and Geigertown Fire Companies, and the Elverson Rod and Gun Club.  Fred was a former Elverson Borough Council member.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and time with his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by a daughter, Mary E. and her husband Robert Frazier of Elverson and a sister, Anne Houdick of FL. There are four grandchildren, Richard, Sarah, Haley, and Dylan and two great grandchildren, Bentlee and Alexzander.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 2 PM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Rev. Beverly K. Wenrich officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery.  A calling hour will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Fred to St. James Lutheran Church, PO Box 5, Geigertown, Pa.  19523-0005.
