
Bernard “ Barney Stringer, 84 of Downingtown passed away on Saturday, Feb 11, 2012 at Life Care
Hospital, West Chester. He was the beloved husband of Shirley L ( Heidelbaugh ) Stringer, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Downingtown, on June 9, 1927 he was the son of the Joseph & Mary
(Reid) Stringer. Barney attended Downingtown School, he was employed has a machinist for many years with Beloit Eastern and at McCuchin & Pyle Companies.
Barney bowled in a league at Ingleside Lanes, He was a huge fan of the Flyers, Eagles Phillies and enjoyed Hunting and Fishing. He was a lover of dogs. Barney was a social member of the Minquas and East Brandywine Fire Companies. He belonged also to the Brandywine YMCA, and active with the Honey Brook & Downingtown Senior centers.
In addition to his wife Barney is survived by his daughters, Theresa Bryant and Jan Stringer, both of Pottstown. He his survived by a sisters Mary Walton, Eleanor Fuller, and Sarah Jane Heidelbaugh all of
Coatesville and Elizabeth Harrington of Parkesburg. Brother Charles of Downingtown.
Sister in law Ruth Stringer of Exton, Marian Stringer of Elverson and Barbara Martin of Honey Brook.
Brother in law Richard and his wife Jane of Downingtown and Many Nieces & Nephews.
Barney is predeceased in death by his brothers John, James, Joseph, “Dode” and Howard .“Mike Stringer
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday February 18, 2012 at 11:00AM at the Labs Funeral Home, Inc
141 Pequea Ave Honey Brook, with Pastor Walt Shuler officiating Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00AM until service time at the Funeral Home.
Internment Services will be held privately at St. Agnes Mausoleum West Chester.
