Robert Michael Muccio, 84, of Morgantown, PA and formerly of Latrobe, PA, Cincinnati, OH, West Chester PA, and West Babylon, NY died on October 25, 2015. He was born in New York City to Lillian (Diorio) and Daniel Anthony Muccio. Prior to his retirement Bob was a humor writer for Norcross Greeting Cards from 1961 to 1981. He also enjoyed a freelance career as an idea man and cartoonist. During the 1960s he had over 50 gags and a drawn cartoon published in The New Yorker. Other periodicals that published his work included Mad Magazine, Boys Life and The Saturday Review. He also wrote greeting cards for Hallmark, Gibson and American Greetings.
He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, classic movies, painting and long walks outdoors. He considered himself a New Yorker and was a lifelong fan of the Mets and the football Giants. Quick with a quip, his wry sense of humor will be missed by all who loved him.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Susan Fergesen (Brett Snyder) of Gap, PA; his son, Dr. Daniel J. Muccio (Cindy) of Erie, PA; 3 grandchildren, Dan, Sammie and Grace; his brother, John (Anna); his sister in law, Audrey and devoted cousin, Marie Kurkowski. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Edith M. Muccio and by his brother, Daniel J. Muccio.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
