Phyllis T. Helms, 87 yrs., of Elverson, died on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at her home, following an illness.
She was born on November 14, 1929 in Kennett Square. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Philip and Helen (Umflet) Taylor. She was the wife of the late G. Edwin Helms, who died on May 1, 1998
Phyllis was a homemaker to her beloved family. She was a member of Pine Swamp Immanuel Church and a former member of the Honey Brook United Methodist Church, were she was a Sunday school teacher for many years at both churches. She loved being an artist and earned many prizes for her art work.
Phyllis was preceded in death by a son Charles G. Helms, a granddaughter, Theresa Helms Cutrona, a brother Philip and a sister, Frances.
Surviving are three sons, G. Edwin Helms, Jr. of Geigertown, Stephen R. Helms of Elverson, James D. Helms of Mohnton, and a sister, Dorothy McGovern of Kennett Square. There are also 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A private service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
