Patricia A. Hess, 82 yrs., of Honey Brook, died on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Hickory House Nursing Home, following an illness.
She was born in Lancaster on April 5, 1935. Patricia was the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Hazel E. (Trout) Houck. She was the wife of Winfield H. “Bumpsy” Hess, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.
Patricia was a homemaker to her beloved family and also worked as an animal care technician at the University of Penn New Balton Center. She was a member of the Honey Brook Presbyterian Church. Patricia was a graduate of the former Honey Brook High School. She enjoyed reading, family vacations, and all sporting events.
Patricia was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Houck.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Rodger (Kim) Hess of New Holland, a daughter, Wendy (Bill) Twaddell of East Earl and a brother, William Houck of Gap. There are four grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Lindsay, and Corey.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2 PM from the Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, 4331 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Jonathan Yoder officiating The family will receive friends staring at 1:30 PM and also following the service at the church. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM at the Honey Brook Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Patricia to either the Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, PO Box 276, Honey Brook, Pa. 19344-0276 or Animal Rescue League of Berks Co., PO Box 69, Mohnton, Pa. 19540-0069.
