Michael E. Shuler

Michael E. Shuler, 62 yrs., of Honey Brook, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy, while under the loving care of his family and hospice. 

He was born on May 18, 1955 in Lancaster.  Michael was the son the late Walter E. and Madelyn E. (Essex) Shuler.

He was the supervisor of the Honey Brook Borough Water Authority.  Michael was the former Police Chief of Honey Brook Township and served as mayor and councilman for the Honey Brook Borough.  He was a life member and past President of the Honey Brook Fire Company, where he served as captain of the Fire Police and chairman of the ambulance association.    Michael’s community service included coaching Little League Baseball for the Honey Brook Athletic Association and was a Big Brother in the Lancaster Chapter.   Michael was also a graduate of Lancaster Bible College.   
      
He is survived by a brother, Rev. Dr. Walter E. Shuler, III, and his wife Linda of Honey Brook, a niece, Kim Kersey and her husband Jon, and two nephews, Jeffrey Shuler and his wife Tanya and Walter E. Shuler, IV and his wife Kristine.  There are also many great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 at 11 AM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc. 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa.  Interment will follow at the Bridgeville EC Cemetery.  A calling hour will be held on Sunday from 5 to 7 PM and one hour prior to the service both at the funeral home.

I once went to your church when I lived down there. I came to know Mike by going to the Gateway Baptist Church. Mike had a delightful personality, and always was there when someone needed him. My sincere deepest sympathy to all your family. My thoughts and prayers will be with you always.
