They made their home in Delaware County, then the Downingtown area and in 1983 moved to the Honey Brook, PA area which is located near Lancaster in south central Pennsylvania. Nina's career was a homemaker and she was involved in the family automotive business where Gerie repaired foreign cars and later produced automotive technical manuals and publications supporting the automotive service industry. Nina and Gerie also enjoyed competing in road rallies and although Nina initially feared small airplanes she flew with her husband and found she loved it and eventually soloed a Cessna 150. After retirement Nina and Gerie enjoyed raising donkeys, attending the Oshkosh air show multiple times, but their trip of a lifetime was to Alaska where they rafted through Denali park. She was also an accomplished artist in both drawing and carving and even cartooning. Gerie passed away in May 2002 after 52 wonderful years together. Her faith in the Lord had always been the center of her life and she was very active in the Gospel Tabernacle church located near Honey Brook and was especially involved with the Blessing House, a food and clothing ministry located next to her home.
