Fred W. Rowland Fred W. Rowland, of Honey Brook, PA, and formerly of West Chester and Kennett Square, PA, passed away on May 26, 2018.

Fred was the beloved husband of Jewel Zaleski Rowland, to whom he was married for 51 years. He is survived by his three children; Noreen Davish (Patrick), Siobhan Marussich (Mark), and Steve Rowland (Therese).  He was delighted by his grandchildren: Sophie and Josephine Davish, Catherine Marussich, and Alvar Rowland.

Because Fred lost his immediate family early in life, he treasured the family that he created and that grew around him.  He was happy.  Fred was born in Buffalo, NY in 1929.  He attended Carnegie Tech, served in the Air Force as a medical technician (Korea), and graduated from University of Buffalo and Brooklyn Polytech (now New York Polytechnic Institute). He had his doctorate was in polymer chemistry and was employed as a technical writer for Hewlett-Packard for 30 years.

He was a skilled woodworker and made several family heirlooms that will be treasured for future generations.  Fred was social and well liked in his community at Tel Hai, and had a wry sense of humor with plenty of trademarked one-liners. An elder sage, he was a story-teller, fascinated by the sciences and full of anecdotes. Most of all, he was the rock of the family,  dependable and true.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service and celebration of his life to be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 23rd from the Center for Worship and Performing Arts at StoneCroft, (CWPA) 4000 Tree Line Drive, Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Tim Herr and Pastor Herb Davis officiating. For directions to Tel Hai, please visit www.telhai.org    Graveside services are private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Tel Hai Care Assurance Fund, P.O. Box 190, Honey Brook, PA 19344-0190.
