Ethel J. Furlong, 93 yrs., of Honey Brook, formerly of Glenmoore, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at The Meadows Health Care Center at the Tel Hai Retirement Community, following an illness.
She was born on Wednesday, June 10, 1925 in Chester Co., Pa. Ethel was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Sadie R. (Haas) Beam. She was the wife of the late Donald P. Furlong, who died on June 14, 1992.
Ethel worked at the Glenmoore Post Office for over 35 years and served as the Postmaster for 10 years. She enjoyed wood carving, painting, and all types of crafts.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Hayes and two brothers, Charles Beam, Jr. and Paul Beam.
Surviving is a brother, Henry H. Beam of Phoenix, AZ and nine nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11 AM from The Labs Funeral Home, Inc. 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Tim Herr officiating. Interment will follow at the Hopewell Methodist Cemetery. A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
