Margaret V. “Peg” Hackett, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

She was born in Honey Brook Township, Chester County, Pa. on Tuesday, March 10, 1936. Peg was the daughter of J. Harry and Blanche (Boyer) Pfahler. She was the wife of the late David E. “Dave” Hackett, Sr., who died on Sept. 1, 2014.

Peg was last employed as a cafeteria aide at the Honey Brook Elementary School. Prior to that she was a waitress at the Honey Brook Restaurant and a cook at Villa St. John. Peg was a member of the Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, was a deacon and a volunteer in the kitchen. She and her late husband loved being devoted grandparents to David and Tara.

Peg was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.

She is survived by a son David E. Hackett, II and his wife Patricia Hackett of Honey Brook, a grandson, David E. Hackett, III of Chicago and a granddaughter Tara A. Lambert and her husband Tomas Lambert of Downingtown.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11 AM from the Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, 4331 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, Pa. with Pastor William J. Wisneski. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A private interment will be held St. Mark’s Episcopal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Peg to Honey Brook Presbyterian Church Building Fund, PO Box 276, Honey Brook, Pa. 19344-0276.

Dave, so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. My sincere condolences to you and your family. I so enjoyed talking to her when Nancy Zook and I came to visit. Heaven's choir just gained one fine alto.
