Margaret E. “Peg” Blake, 81 yrs. of Honey Brook, died on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Brandywine Hospital, following an illness.

She was born on Friday, Jan. 28, 1938 in Honey Brook Twp., Chester Co., Pa. Peg was the daughter the late Roy and Margaret Olive (DeHaven) Souden. She was the wife of the late Raymous “Bud” Blake, who died in 1995.

Peg enjoyed a full life, had a great sense of humor, and loved being around her family and friends. She looked forward to watching hummingbirds on her front porch. Peg loved playing her favorite game, Yahtzee, which she usually won at, cards games, word search puzzle books, camping and crocheting. She relished being a homemaker to her beloved family.

Peg was preceded in death by a son, James “Jim” Blake, a brother, John Souden and a sister, Nancy Patton.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Peggy Ann (Dennis) Reber of Honey Brook and Brenda (Ed Gornee) Blake of Honey Brook, two brothers, Roy Souden of Narvon and Michael Souden of Morgantown, and a sister, Irene Blake of Jennersville. There are four granddaughters, Melissa (Darren) Yarnes, Jessica Blake, Jamie Blake, and Natashia Blake and a great grandson, Nathan Yarnes.

A private graveside service will be held at the Forks of the Brandywine Cemetery.
