Hazel M. Shingle

Hazel M. Shingle, 96 yrs. of Honey Brook, formerly of Glenmoore, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at her home, while under the loving care of her family and hospice.

She was born on April 27, 1923 in Honey Brook Twp., Chester Co., Pa. Hazel was the daughter the late Ivan and Frances (Harrington) Fryberger. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Shingle, who died in 1979.

Hazel was a homemaker to her beloved family She was a member of the Glenmoore United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the Church. Hazel enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and going on trips with her sister, Mary.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Muller, two brothers, Ivan and George, and eight sisters, Anna, Florence, Mary Sara, Helen, Pearl, Doris, and Esther.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Shingle of Malvern and Larry (Carolyn) Shingle of Honey Brook and a sister, Violet Pfitzenmeyer. There are five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a step granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held at on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11 AM from the Glenmoore United Methodist Church, 1920 Creek Road, Glenmoore, Pa., with Pastor Rosann M. Goldberg-Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Swamp Cemetery. A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Hazel to Glenmoore United Methodist Church, PO Box 37, Glenmoore, Pa. 19343-0037 or Penn Hospice, 795 East Marshall Street, Suite # 204, West Chester, PA 19380..
