Ronald S. “Ron” Shade, 88 yrs., of Honey Brook, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Brandywine Hospital.

He was born on April 6, 1931 in Altoona, Pa. Ron was the son of the late Aden Wilbert and Mary L. (Mutzabaugh) Shade. He was the husband of Ruth Anne (Goodman) Shade, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

Ron was plant manager for the former Posey Iron Works of Lancaster. He enjoyed gardening, horses and horseback riding.

Ron was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two sons, Ronald husband of Debra Shade of New Holland and Donald Shade of Honey Brook, three daughters, Mary wife of Lance Guldin of Narvon, Sandi wife of Steve Souden of Honey Brook, and Roseanne wife of Allen Maddox of Honey Brook and a brother, Donald K. Shade of Sinnemahoning, Pa. Also by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A private service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Honey Brook Methodist Cemetery.
