John Raymond "Seg" Sagner

John Raymond “Seg” Sagner, 88 yrs., of Honey Brook, died on Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Meadows Healthcare Center at the Tel Hai Retirement Community, following a long illness.

He was born on July 21, 1931 in Honey Brook. Seg was the son of the late John H. and Mary C. (Miller) Sagner. He was the husband of Dorothy D. (Deihm) Sagner, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.

Seg was a welder for 34 years with Transco/Williams Pipeline. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Seg was a member of the Honey Brook American Legion Wawassan Post # 422 and the VFW of New Holland Post # 7362. He was an avid fox hunter and enjoyed horse back riding. Seg was also a member of the Chester County Fox Hunters Association and the Cochran Hunt Club.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Jean Mattson.

Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son, Keith A. and his wife Eve Sagner of Narvon and a daughter, Lugene Sagner Woyton and her husband Ted Woyton of Laureldale. There are two grandchildren, Lauren and Brett and four great-grandchildren, Nicayla, Jada, Alaya, V'anni.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11 AM at the Chapel of the Tel Hai Retirement Community, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Tim Herr officiating. Interment will follow at the Honey Brook Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 AM on Friday at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Seg to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014 or the Good Samaritan Fund, C/o Tel Hai Development Office, PO Box 190, Honey Brook, Pa. 19344-0190. This fund is intended for the emergency financial needs of the Tel Hai employees.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. I am not sure how or if we are related, but my Great Grandfathers name was John Sagner. He was married to Emma Smith Sagner they had three children, Sammy, and twins Maggie Mae McKim Sagner and my grandmother, Ida Mary Sagner Miller, married to Wilmer E. (Bud) Miller. They had 14 children, my mother Dorothy Miller Barclay child #8 was married to Ivan S. (Sam) Barclay. Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.
