Shirley C. Long, 87 years old, of Honey Brook, living in Norristown for 45 years, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020 at the Meadows Health Care Center at Tel Hai Retirement Community, following an illness.
She was born in Camden, NJ on Thursday, Nov. 9, 1933. Shirley was the daughter of the late Howard and Ida (Ellis) Walters. She was the wife of the late Marvin Alexander Long, who died in 2002.
Shirley was a homemaker to her beloved family. She was Baptist by her faith. Shirley study voice and music and was a soloist for church choirs. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word games and creating scrapbooks with family photos. Shirley was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Mae Emory.
Shirley is survived by her son, Marvin Alexander Long, II of Grand Rapids, MI and a daughter, Lois Rajcan of Glenmoore. There are three grandchildren, Mandi, Benjamin, and Daniel and four great grandchildren.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 from 10 to 11 AM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc, 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa. 19344. A graveside service will follow at 12PM from the George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting, Pa. 19462, with Pastor Harry Fletcher officiating.
Attendees are reminded of the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines and are kindly asked to wear a mask and observe physical distancing.
