Dorothy J. Hartenstine

Dorothy J. Hartenstine, 77 years, of Morgantown, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Chester County Hospital, following respiratory failure.

She was born on February 27, 1943 in Morgantown, Pa. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Henry and Naomi (Fry) Hertzler. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Hartenstine, who passed away on March 26, 2019.

Dorothy was a homemaker to her beloved family. She enjoyed scrapbooking, traveling, cooking, and canning.

She is survived by two sons, Scott (Lori) Hartenstine of Russell, PA and Curtis (Karin) Hartenstine of Birdsboro, two daughters, Jennifer (Sean) Kerr of Spring Hill, TN and Jodi Hartenstine of Morgantown and a brother, Robert (Candace) Hertzler of Morgantown. There are seven grandchildren, Austin, Brandon, Jessica, Zachary, Ashley, Sophia, Audrey.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 3 PM from the East Brandywine Baptist Church, 999 Horseshoe Pike, Downingtown, Pa., with Pastor Brian Fuller and Pastor Bill Park officiating. Attendees are reminded of the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines and are kindly asked to wear a mask and observe physical distancing. The service will also be live-streamed on the church’s website www.eastbrandywinebaptist.com

A private viewing and graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family, due to the current Covid 19 restrictions.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Dorothy to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org .

So many special memories over many years plus a shared birthday month! often went out to lunch to celebrate together! Dottie was a very special lady to many and had the ability to light up any room she entered with her wonderful smile and beautiful spirit. She will be greatly missed at our ladies get togethers and scrapbook weekends. She was and is a blessing to my life and I truly thank God that he brought her into my life.
