George F. Ball, 86 yrs., of Elverson, died on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was born on Thursday, November 11, 1934 in Patterson, NJ.  George was the son of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Rogers) Ball.  He was the husband of the late Irene M. (Strobel) Ball, who passed on April 15, 2010.

George retired as the fleet manager of New Penn Trucking in Lebanon, PA.  He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. George was a US Army veteran. In his 20’s, George was a semi-professional motorcyclist who traveled the country on the circuit. He shared this passion with his two older children, Greg and Doreen, spending time teaching them to ride from a very young age through their teenage years. He also enjoyed collecting antique toys, attending toy shows in the weekend, and organic gardening with his wife, Irene.  George was also a volunteer at St. Mary’s of Providence Center for many years with his wife, Irene, as well as a resident in his later years.

He is survived by a son, Greg R. Ball of Delray Beach, FL and two daughters, Doreen D. Stinger of Cochranville and Elizabeth M. Nace of Lancaster. George was “Grand-Dad” to seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Zachary, Christopher, Nicholas, Justin, and Leah & three great grandchildren, Zoey, Cali and Jaxon.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 11 AM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, PA. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at All Souls Cemetery. 

Attendees are reminded of the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines and are kindly asked to wear a mask and observe physical distancing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of George to the sisters of St. Mary’s of Providence Center, 227 Isabella Road, Elverson, PA  19520.
