Harry E. Schlimme

Harry E. Schlimme, 82 years of Elverson, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, at his home, while under the loving care of family and hospice.

A resident of Chester County all his life, he was the son of the late Frederick & Clara (Lammey) Schlimme, Jr. and the husband of Marlene Viola (Mohl) with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

He started his employment driving for Material Handling in Bala Cynwyd. He then worked as a diesel mechanic at Grace Mines in Morgantown until its closure in 1977, then later becoming self-employed as a backhoe operator locally in the community.

Harry was a loving, caring, hardworking husband and father. He always provided for his family. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. He had a willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend.

Harry enjoyed his family and grand dogs (Frankie & Tess), camping, 4-wheeling, country music, watching cowboys on TV, his many tractors, and a good card game (as long as he was winning). He spent most of his free and retired time at his second property, which he called “The Lot”. He kept himself busy mowing grass, splitting firewood, feeding his koi fish, and doing any necessary grounds-keeping.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, David Eugene and his brothers, Freddie, and William.

Harry will be greatly missed by his wife Marlene, his daughter, Debra Sue and his son-in-law Frederick Parlee. In addition, he is survived by his brother Edgar C. (Sonny) Schlimme, Sr., and his sister Mary Louise Hornak, along with many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements by The Labs Funeral Home, Inc. of Honey Brook, Pa.
