Mary Jean Presloid

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary “Jean” Presloid, age 80. Jean was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She carried love, joy, and happiness wherever she went.  Jean lived in Oaks, Pa. for many decades and died on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, following a long and courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Jean was born on Jan. 9, 1941 in Emeigh, Cambria County, Pa and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Eve (Bernecky) Bodnar. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents, and her sister Debbie Bodnar.

 Jean was a Day Care Worker for many decades, enjoyed caring for many children, and loved babysitting her grandchildren over the years. She also treasured listening to Elvis Presly music, reading, gardening, going for walks, baking, shopping, and enjoyed eating out. Jean adored spending time with her family, especially the annual Bodnar family reunion, and traveling with her siblings and children.

Jean’s surviving family includes her daughter, Kimberly Slate of Reading, PA, her son David Presloid, husband of Janine, of Downingtown, PA, and son Brian Presloid of Oaks, PA. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Kayla, Maddie, and Robbie as well as her cherished grand puppies- Benji, Brielle, and Dio. Jean is also survived by her loving siblings Andrew and spouse Angela, James, John, Thomas and spouse Judy Bodnar, Diana Bobak, and Donna and spouse Dan Hajduk.
