Howard E. Arters, Sr., 87 Yrs., of Elverson, died Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Brandywine Hospital, following an illness.
Howard was born in East Brandywine Twp., Chester Co., Pa. on August 1, 1934. He was the son of the late Daniel J. Arters, Sr. and Mary (McNeily) Arters. Howard was the husband of the late Velda (Burkey) Arters, who died on Feb. 6, 2021.
He was a self-employed mason. Howard was also a farmer and carpenter. He was a lifetime member of the Glenmoore Fire Company and enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, and watching the Philles play a game.
He was preceded in death by a son in law, Sam Kaiser, four brothers, Conley Arters, Rodney Arters, Daniel Arters, Jr., and Herman Arters and two sisters, Mabel Biddle and Jane Harner.
Surviving is a son, Howard E. (Lisa) Arters, Jr. of Elverson, a daughter, Deb Kaiser of Elverson, four brothers, Gene Arters, Dallas Arters, Martin Arters, and John Arters and two sisters, Arlene Schlimme and Ruthann Knight. There are three grandchildren, Crystal (Kevin) Snow, Sam (Becca) Kaiser, and Hanna Arters and six great grandchildren, Brandon Kaiser, Gabe Kaiser, Alya Kaiser, Zeelin Kaiser, Olivia Snow and Samantha Snow.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 12 PM from The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa. Interment will follow at East Brandywine Baptist Cemetery. A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service.
