Linda G. Shuler

Linda G. Shuler, 76 of Honey Brook, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at her home, while under the loving care of her family and hospice.

She was born in Norton, VA on December 11, 1945. Linda was the daughter of the late Albert and Bernice (Wells) Spears. She was the loving wife of Rev. Dr. Walter E. Shuler, III with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.

Linda was a homemaker to her beloved family and spent her life in dedicated service to the families of Gateway Baptist Church and sharing the Gospel in her community. She once took off her shoes and gave them to a young woman with whom she was sharing Jesus. When her health prevented her from continuing her ministry, she still oversaw and delegated the responsibilities, never losing her heart for serving the Lord. It was important to Linda that those she loved be saved, so they too will be in Heaven. Linda played the guitar and enjoyed singing and playing gospel music with her family, a tradition she was sure to pass on to her children and grandchildren.

Linda was no stranger to sorrow, being preceded in death by her father when she was 5 years old, a daughter, Tracy Norris; a son, Baby Walt; and a grandson, Kayce Norris as well as two brothers, Jerry Spears, and Randy Spears.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey (Tanya Diehl) Shuler of Lakeland FL, Walter E. Shuler IV “Poke” (Kristine Blake) Shuler of Narvon PA, a daughter Kimberly (Jon) Kersey of Champaign IL, three brothers, Dick Spears, Larry Spears, and Red Fraley. There are 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00am at Gateway Baptist Church, 143 Suplee Rd, Honey Brook PA. Pastor Walter Shuler IV will officiate. A calling hour will be held at the church on Friday from 6 to 8pm and on Saturday starting at 10:00am. Interment by Rev. Jeffrey Shuler will follow at the Bridgeville E.C. Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Linda to Gateway Baptist Church.

Arrangements by The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., of Honey Brook PA.

The ultimate Christian woman. She accepted people just as they are. She not only spoke the Christian life she truly lived it. Her passing leaves a large emptiness in many life’s. Words can not express the sadness felt by so many at loosing such an amazing woman.
