Our Deepest Sympathies to the Barrage family. My Dad (Elwood H. Mendenhall) and Genie worked together at Lukens, and were Good Friends. I remember going to Genie’s and swimming behind his house when we were younger. There was a rope that you could swing on and jump into the water. It was so much fun. Every year we would go to the Honey Brook Fair, and I always went to the candy wheel that Genie worked at. Even if I lost, I never walked away empty handed. Genie would put his finger to his lips to make the Shhh sign, hand us a couple candy Bars, and wink. We would wink back, and scurry away with our goodie’s. The thing a remember most about Genie was his Big Beautiful Smile. He had a smile that would melt your heart. He was always joking and making you feel like part of his family. I am truly Blessed to have known such a kind and wonderful Man. My parents have both passed away, but us kids will always remember Genie, and the Great memories we have of him. May God Bless you, and Comfort you in your time of sorrow. Love Jeanie, Elwood, Walter, and Alan Mendenhall
