Joseph Samuel McElyea, 74, of Elverson, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Hickory House Nursing Home, following an illness.
Joseph was born in Coatesville, on Monday, September 29, 1947. He was the son of the late Jacob Selmar and Lena (Melton) McElyea.
Joseph was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a welder, working for various metal shops. Joseph was a member of New Beginnings Church of Morgantown/Blue Ball. He appreciated everything about aviation and enjoyed making model airplanes and going to air shows.
Survivors include three children, a sister, Mary and her husband Chet Sceft of York, a dear friend/care giver, Leslie C. Gill of Elverson and his extended family of Eric McDonnell and Kelly Dawson.
A private service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
