Gilbert E. Pyle, 99 years of Honey Brook, died on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the Meadows Healthcare Center at the Tel Hai Retirement Community, following an illness.
He was born on August 4, 1923. Gilbert was the son of the late William Wayne and Myrtle (Forwood) Pyle. He was the husband of Ellen (Hadfield) Pyle, with whom he shared 77 years of marriage.
Gilbert was a maintenance supervisor at Wyeth Labs. He was a former member of the Lions Club. Gilbert enjoyed golf and Atlanta Braves Baseball.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gilbert L. “Linc” Pyle, three brothers, Albert Pyle, George Pyle and Russell Pyle and a sister, Emily Pullen.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son, James Pyle and a sister, Janet Bicking. There are three granddaughters and three great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at the East Brandywine Baptist Cemetery.
