John A. Linton, Jr.

John A. Linton, Jr., 80 years of Morgantown, died on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Reading Hospital, only 6 days after his wife of 61 years, Alice M. (Moyer) Linton, died at Celebration Villa in Reading.

He was born on Monday, December 7, 1942. John was the son of John A. Linton, Sr. and Phyllis (Andrew) Linton.

He was a millwright at the former Grace Mines in Morgantown, a steel worker at Bethlehem Steel in Bethlehem and later worked for the Twin Valley School District.  John enjoyed hunting and fishing.  

He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger K. Linton.

John is survived by his daughter, Terri L. and her husband Keith Harnish of Wernersville, a brother, Kevin R. Linton of Exeter, two sisters, Maxine N. Witman of Elverson and Wanita L. (James) Plank of Narvon.  There are two grandchildren, Austin Harnish and Rachel Harnish.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 11 AM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Chaplain Melissa Moore officiating. Interment will follow for both John and Alice Linton at the Elverson Methodist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of John and Alice Linton to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, PO Box 69, Mohnton, Pa.  19540-0069.
