James H. "Bubs" Blain

James H. “Bubs” Blain, Jr., 91 yrs. of Coatesville, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia.

James was born in West Chester on Wednesday, September 28, 1932.  He was the son of the late James H. Blain, Sr. and Bertha (Weeks) Blain. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane (Crouse) Blain, who died on December 23, 2019.

James was a retired steel worker for the former Lukens Steel of Coatesville.  He was also a bartender at the former Caln Inn.  James was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. James was a lifetime member of the Coatesville VFW Post # 287 and a member of the West End Fire Company of Coatesville.  He collected golf balls as a hobby.

James was preceded in death by a three sisters, Bertha Kopple, Nancy MacLees and Linda Parsons.

He is survived by a son, Ronald A. Schultz of Selinsgrove, a daughter, Denise L. Reider of Honey Brook and a brother, Donald Blain of Coatesville. There are three grandchildren, Lori, Michelle, and Brooke and three great grandchildren, Asli, Connor and Jack.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11 AM from The Labs Funeral Home, Inc, 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Mr. Edward Stoltzfus officiating.  Interment will follow at Philadelphia Memorial Park.   A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service.
