Stella M. Reber

Stella M. Reber, 103 years of Honey Brook, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Stella was born on Wednesday, September 1, 1920, in Glenmoore. She was the daughter of the late Jacob R. and Mary E. (Edwards) Ammon-Miller. Stella was the wife of the late Walter B. Reber, Jr., who died in October of 2002.

She was a homemaker to her beloved family. Stella was also a school bus driver and managed the office of her husband’s service station. She volunteered at the Honey Brook Library, ran a 4-H sewing club, and hosted Fresh Air Children. Stella enjoyed quilting, reading, and entertaining family and friends.

Most will remember Stella as the oldest active member of the Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, joining the church in the year 1935. She was a Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, active with the Women’s Association, serving as President and Secretary, and was one of the first women Elders in her church. Stella also headed many sewing programs for missions over many years.

She was an active 50-year member of the former Sameul Fear chapter where she served as Past Matron, Secretary, and A District Deputy.

Stella was preceded in death by her, stepfather, Jonathan R. Miller, three brothers, Royer Miller, Harold Miller and Donald Miller, a daughter in law, Evelyn Christine Reber and 7 stepbrothers and stepsisters.

She is survived by her two sons, Glenn W. Reber of Lancaster and Dennis S. and his wife Peggy Reber of Honey Brook, and a daughter, Eileen M., and her husband A. James Dillow of Honey Brook. There are 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 2 PM from Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, 4331 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Sam Massey officiating. The family will receive friends starting at`12:30 PM at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
