Ralph I. Huyett, 77 years of Elverson, died on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at his home, while under the loving care of hospice and his family.

He was born in Elverson on Monday, April 21, 1947. Ralph was the son of John Huyett, Sr. and Verna (Hoffman) Huyett.  He was the husband of Patricia A. (Earnshaw) Huyett, with whom he shared 50 1/2 years of marriage.

Ralph was a maintenance man at the former Mrs. Smith’s Pie Company in Morgantown and later worked for the Garden Spot School District as a custodian. In retirement, he worked part time as a school bus driver’s aid for the Eshleman Bus Company. Ralph was a US Army Reserve veteran.  He enjoyed hunting, camping, and old classic cars. 

He was preceded in death by his nine siblings.

Ralph is survived by his son, Ricky (Denise) Huyett of Birdsboro, daughter, Mickie (Steven) Shimp of Wernersville, a brother, Mike Huyett of Birdsboro, three sisters, Martha Kohl of Elverson, Naomi Deeds of Honey Brook and Joyce Seidel of Elverson.  There are six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 7 PM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Ralph to the Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org
