It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of William C. Stroh (Bill) who passed away at the age of 89 on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Tel Hai Retirement Community.
Bill was born on October 7, 1935 in Southwest Philadelphia. Bill was the son of the late Rudolph W. Stroh Sr. and Anna V. (Schellenger) Stroh. He was the husband of Lois C. (Schikowski) Stroh and together they had two children; Richard and Lois.
Bill was a graduate of John Bartman High School in Philadelphia. He served in the US Army Reserve in the Medical Depot. Bill attended the Warton School of Business and was then employed as an accountant at the former Gulf Oil Refinery in South Philadelphia.
Bill was a Mason for 50+ years. He was a member of the Forks of the Brandywine Church. He also served as the president of the Philadelphia Hammond Organ Society. Bill loved music, dogs and lighthouses, but his greatest joy was found in time spent with his family.
Bill is survived in addition to his wife by a son, Richard Stroh and his wife Gretchen of Rock Hall, MD and a daughter, Lois Heise and her husband Steve of Glenolden, Pa. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at The Forks of the Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 1648 Horseshoe Pike, Glenmoore, Pa. where friends and family may call from 10AM-11AM. Pastor David Hicks will officiate the service and the burial will follow at The Forks of The Brandywine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Bill to The Shriners Children’s Philadelphia, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19140.
