Susan P. Dremann

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Susan Porter Dremann of Honey Brook (nee Moore, Mueller, Tighe), on the evening of September 12th, at the age of 62. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family after an almost 6-year battle with GBM (glioblastoma multiforme), a rare & aggressive brain cancer, of which only 5% of people survive past 5 years - as she liked to say, “I don’t do normal!”

Susan was born on August 25th, 1963, to Marie Louise Moore & Charles Greenwood Moore, Jr. She grew up in Paoli, PA with her sisters and loved sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. She loved anything to do with water, whether it was kayaking, paddleboarding, or swimming (the latter of which she was able to continue up until just a few months before her death). Susan found a lot of joy in dancing ballet, and although her career as a ballerina ended in high school, she continued dancing throughout her whole life (particularly while “cleaning” the house on Saturdays). She adored music & the arts, attending countless concerts, plays, performances, and musicals throughout her entire life. Although she didn’t play traditional sports, her competitive nature was evident in intense family ping-pong matches, board games, card games, as well as backyard volleyball. She was a proud self-proclaimed “geek,” genuinely enjoying math (especially Calculus - her favorite to teach), and indulging regularly in sci-fi & fantasy movies & books. She was also an avid nature & animal lover, spending time outside as much as she could, and nearly always kept a garden and cats. Throughout her life, she enjoyed taking on various creative hobbies such as knitting, sewing, gardening, baking, crafting, and playing the piano, to name just a few. She passed her creativity, love of nature, and “nerdiness” down to her children (and grandchildren).

Susan graduated from Great Valley High School in 1981 (where she first met her surviving husband, Jeff, in math class). She went on to attend & graduate with a B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1986. Susan was a life-long education enthusiast. She was happiest while empowering others through their own journeys. After working in computer programming for several years, she became a full-time stay-at-home mom as well as a part-time math teacher & tutor. She especially enjoyed working with students one-on-one and could easily adapt her teaching style to meet the unique needs of her students. She also taught Sunday school & led various Bible studies. Faith was always the center of Susan’s life, and the gospel shaped how she lived, welcoming and loving everyone she met. She adored being a mother and loving on others, so much so that she often welcomed in “bonus” children throughout her life - anyone who needed a loving, safe space was welcome in Susan’s home for however long they needed.

In 2021, she reconnected with her lifelong friend from high school, Jeff, and they filled their 4 years together with many adventures. On June 4, 2022, they got married and honeymooned along the coast of Maine, and then a year later, went on an amazing trip to Hawaii. They also went on numerous small local trips plus concerts, plays, museums, hikes, and events–often making sure ice cream and chocolate were involved. Knowing her time was limited, she lived life to the fullest. Also, during these past several years, Susan found a church home with Living God Lutheran Church in Honey Brook, and she even continued her education and self-growth through Jack Canfield’s Train the Trainer program. She went on to create podcasts, and several other business ventures before her most recent recurrence of GBM and subsequent treatment.

She is survived by her loving & devoted husband Jeffrey Dremann, daughters Amanda Kumor (Robby) & Christy Cox (Kevin), son Andrew Mueller, step-son Zach Dremann (Brooke), elder sisters Cindy Williamson (Glen [children Bryce & Leah]) & Donna Adams (Billy), step-brothers Chuck E. Baker (Jen [children Michael & Ryan]) & Larry Pat Baker (Stacy [daughter Madeleine]), stepmother Sharon Moore, grandchildren Clara & Griffin, and “bonus” grandchildren Ellie & Art. She also had several “bonus children” whose lives she greatly impacted (Donna [Richard] Karwoski, Sarah White, Michael Fedick, and more). Her loving and welcoming spirit will live on in all whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in Susan’s honor to the Glioblastoma Foundation (glioblastomafoundation.org) or Head for the Cure (https://impact.headforthecure.org/team/654863).

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Susan’s life at a memorial service held at Living God Lutheran Church located at 3200 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, PA on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at 2 PM EDT. The service will also be streamed or recorded for those unable to attend in person.
