Rev. Lester M. “Les” Groves, 74 years of Morgantown, died on Monday, September 22, 2025, at his home.
He was born in Grand Island, NB on Monday, June 25, 1951. Les was the son of the late Jay V. and Martha (Gould) Groves.
He was a retired Pastor with the Eastern Conference of the United Methodist Church. Les was a member of the Twin Valley Rotary Club and assisted Twin Valley Food Pantry. He was an avid fan of the movie, The Wizard of Oz.
Les was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Groves.
He is survived by his former wife, Ruth Florence Groves, a son, Daniel and his wife, Chris Groves of Minersville and a sister, Catherine and her husband, Allan Myers of Summersville, KY. There are two grandchildren, Ali and Jamie
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 4 PM from the Conestoga Mennonite Church, 2779 Main Street, Morgantown, PA. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Les to the Twin Valley Food Pantry, 2779 Main Street, Morgantown, Pa. 19543.
