Ruth A. "Grammy" Putt

Ruth A. “Grammy” Putt, age 99 from Elverson, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

She was born in Birdsboro, Pa. on Monday, November 15, 1926.  Ruth was the daughter of the late George E. Hamilton, Jr. and Mary E. (Hartz) Hamilton.  She was the wife of the late Walter L. Putt, who died on February 8, 1997.

Ruth lived each day with kindness, humility and service to others. Her love for the Lord shaped the way she loved her family and friends and all who crossed her path.  She was a homemaker to her beloved family and was a waitress for many years.  Ruth was a member of the MCC Church of Morgantown.  She loved playing cards, parcheesi, reading books and watching birds.  Ruth was an avid Phillies fan and went to the World Series in 2008. She cherished time spent with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son and daughter in law, Randy W. and Laura D. Putt, a brother, George E. Hamilton, III, a sister, Edna M. Knepp, a son in law, Anthony Gentile, Jr and two grandchildren, Wyatt Putt and Renee Putt.

Ruth is survived by three sons, Ronald L. and his wife Barbara Putt of Elverson, Donald G. and his wife Barbara Putt of Tennessee, and Kenneth L. and his wife Cynthia Putt of Elverson, two daughters, Beverly A. and her husband John Plank of Honey Brook and Deborah K. Gentile of Narvon, and a sister, Martha E. Lloyd of Birdsboro.  There are 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great step grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and 5 great-great step grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11 AM at M.C.C. Church, 4221 East Main Street, Morgantown, Pa., with Pastor William “Bill” Wright officiating.    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.   Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
