Delores A. "Dee" Fagan

Delores A. “Dee” Fagan, 78 yrs old., of Honey Brook, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

Dee was born in the village of Joanna, Caernarvon Twp, Berks County, Pa. on July 6, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Esther (McCormick) Hartenstine. Dee was the wife of the late James C. “Jim” Fagan, who died less than a year ago on June 14, 2025.

She was a graduate of Twin Valley High School, Class of 1965.  Dee became a beautician for 20 years and needed to leave her career, because of Raynaud’s disease in her hands.   She worked at a local deli, helping with the day-to-day operations.   Later Dee became a server for 21 years, at Stonewall, a private golf club.  She considered this employment as her favorite. 

Dee was a member of the Honey Brook United Methodist Church. She loved dancing to the oldies’ music, spending time with family and friends, and going out to lunch or dinner.

In 2016, as a non-smoker, she was diagnosed with lung cancer.  Dee survived with the help of God-family-friends and the caring medical team at the McGlinn Cancer Center at Tower Health Reading Hospital.

Dee was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Hartenstine.

She is survived by her four siblings, Peggy (Emory) Ritchie of Narvon, Dottie (Dennis) Patterson of Mohnton, Barbara (Charles) Lutz of Reading and Lew (Tina) Hartenstine of Mohnton .  There are 14 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held on Monday. July 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM from the Honey Brook United Methodist Church, 4510 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Ray Voran officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Dee to the Honey Brook United Methodist Church, PO Box 178, Honey Brook, Pa.  19344-0178 or the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, Pa.  19508.

I will miss you dearly Dee.You always knew how to make someone feel special. Every Birthday,anniversary or just because your special cards would arrive with a cheer. Ill aways remember our girls trips to the beach, my first Mojito with you. Watching you dance all night and our talks. Im very thankful for you! I know your dancing in heaven with Jim. I am so sorry to hear of Dee's passing. At my brother's funeral last summer, she made it a point to find me and say hello, after so many years it was so good to see her. Losing a sibling is losing someone who shared a lifetime of memories. My deepest sympathy goes to your family.
