Eric T. "Ted" Kautz, Jr.

Eric T. “Ted” Kautz, Jr., 95 years of Elverson, died at his home on Thursday, June 11, 2026, while under the care of hospice and his loving family.

He was born in Memphis on December 25, 1930. Ted was the son of Eric T. Kautz, Sr. and Frankie Kautz. He was the husband of the late Jo Ann L. (Barber) Kautz and the late Genevieve (Lipsi) Morgan Kautz.

Ted attended Lower Camden County High School in Lindenwood, NJ, where he was senior class president, basketball captain and voted “best all around” by his classmates. He graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem and served in the United States Marine Corp in Camp LeJeune, NC as an officer.

His career began with RCA and through promotions, he became Manager of Labor Relations at the Corporation Headquarters in Camden, NJ. His career ended as Vice President Human Resources with PQ Corporation in Valley Forge, Pa. in 1993.

In retirement, Ted and JoAnn moved to Kiawah Island, SC. Ten Years later, Jo Ann was stricken with cancer, so they moved back to PA, where she died in November of 2003.

Ted and Genevieve were high school sweethearts. Alas they parted and went their separate ways. Their marriages, each of 49 years, ended with the deaths of the spouses. Their romance was reignited at a high school reunion when Ted asked Genevieve to dinner at the General Wayne Inn in Malvern, PA. Thus began a relationship that resulted in their marriage of over 20 years on October 9, 2004. They resided in Summerfield in Elverson, PA. Genevieve died at home of Dementia at the age of 94 on April 27, 2025.

Ted is survived by his children, Eric T. Kautz, III of Cocoa, FL, Catherine (Charles) Farrell of Wayne and Allison Fitzgerald of King of Prussia. There are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, 2026, from 10 to 11 AM at the Brick Lane Community Church, 52 South Brick Lane, Elverson, Pa. A memorial service will take place at 11 AM in the church. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM at the Elverson Methodist Cemetery.
