Lois S. Boyer, 80 yrs, of Honey Brook, died on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at The Meadows Healthcare Center at the Tel Hai Retirement Community following an illness.
She was born in Philadelphia on Wednesday, December 26, 1945. Lois was the daughter of the late Rev. Harold J. and Elizabeth (Foster) Schieck. She was the wife of Philip P. Boyer, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Lois graduated with a B.A. in English from Albright College and a M.S. in Library Science from Villanova University. She was an 11th grade English teacher at the Phoenixville High School. Lois was also a librarian at Barkley Elementary School. She served a period of 37 years with the Phoenixville School District. Lois was a member of the PA School Librarians Association and other professional organizations.
Lois was an active member of Downingtown United Methodist Church, where she served in the church choir. She enjoyed traveling overseas with her husband to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Lois enjoyed summer vacations in Ontario with friends, this was an important part of her life. She loved to read and work on craft projects.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a brother, George Schieck of San Diego, CA, and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11 AM at the Center For Worship and Preforming Arts at StoneCroft, 4000 Tree Line Dr, Honey Brook, PA with Chaplin David Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 10:15 AM.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Lois to the Tel Hai Care Assurance Fund, PO Box 190, Honey Brook, PA 19344.
