Donald G. Boyer, 83 years of Elverson, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 5th, 2026, following an illness.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on Thursday, April 15, 1943. Donald was the son of the late James D. and Mildred (Gass) Boyer. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Wells) Boyer, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling through Pennsylvania together exploring the many historical sites.
Donald graduated from Marple Newtown High School in Newtown Square in 1961. He went on to graduate from West Chester University. Mr. Boyer taught History and English, and coached soccer, basketball, and track & field at Conestoga Christian School. Don loved Civil War history, traveling to Gettysburg with Mary Lou, collecting Native American artifacts, and digging for bottles. Christmas Eve was a highlight of the year for Don, as he loved Christmas caroling with family and close friends. And we would be remiss not to remember his role as exceptional host to the best 4th of July party. Pitching the annual Whiffle Ball game and playing the 1776 Overture during the spectacular fireworks show. He was an active and faithful member of Hopewell Church for over 50 years.
Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Boyer (2019), and his daughter-in-law, Paige Boyer (2025).
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Tanya E., wife of Justin Stewart, and sons, Ethan D., husband of Rebecca, Justin N., husband of Stephanie, and Garth R., husband of Paige. There are seven grandchildren: Peyton, Charles, Catherine, Joshua, Samuel, Anna, and Cassidy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:30 am with family receiving guests and 11:30 am service at Hopewell Christian Fellowship, 2286 Hopewell Rd. Elverson, PA, with Pastor Gary Buck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Conestoga Christian School, 2760 Main St. Morgantown, PA. 19543, in memory of Donald Boyer.
