Ruth Ann Englehart went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2013 after a prolonged illness while at the Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester.
Ruth Ann was born on September 3, 1942 in Palmerton, Pa and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marion Richards. Surviving family members are her husband Lee Englehart, sons Steven and wife, Marie and Kris and wife, Jackie; six grandchildren; Corey, Casey, Dylan, Caroline, Christina and Catherine. A brother, David Richards and niece, Stevi, reside in Wisconsin.
Ruth Ann lived in Springfield, Delaware County for most of her life before she and her husband Lee, moved to Tel Hai Retirement Community 3-½ years ago. She was a graduate of West Chester State College where she majored in music and then taught in public schools before she became a music teacher at Delaware County Christian School. She enjoyed teaching at DCC so much but after 9 years her teaching career was cut short because of illness.
Ruth Ann’s passions were serving the Lord, family and music. She had a bright, bubbly and outgoing personality that made her engaging to others. Before the onset of her illness many years ago, skiing, swimming and hiking were her favorite past times.
A celebration of Ruth Ann’s Life AND Praise for the Lord will be held at the Christian Fellowship Church located at 758 Spruce Road in New Holland, Lancaster County, Pa. on Saturday, March 16, 2013. The family will receive friends prior to the 10:30 AM service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Ruth Ann to the Tel Hai Care Retirement Community Assurance Fund, PO Box 190, Honey Brook, Pa. 19344-0190.
