Thomas W. Reber Thomas W. Reber, 85 yrs., of Glenmoore, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the Neighborhood Hospice Unit in West Chester, following an illness.

He was born in Chester Co., Pa. on June 4, 1928.  He was the son of the late Frank and Alice (Smith) Reber.  He was the husband of the late Virginia (Burgess) Reber, who passed away in July of 2001.

Thomas was a retired custodian for the Downingtown School District, prior to that he worked for Downingtown Paper Mill. He proudly served his country, during the Korean War in the US Army.  Thomas served as Fire Chief of the Glenmoore Fire Company from 1964 to 1965 & 1971 to 1978.  He enjoyed traveling to the beach.

Thomas is survived by 2 sons, Thomas Reber of Front Royal, VA and Donald Reber of Glenmoore; 3 daughters, Darlene Wilton of West Chester, Linda Pizzi of Downingtown, and Wendy Petrondi of New Providence; a sister, Laura Mae Harple of Glenmoore.  There are 2 grandchildren, Kristin Wilton and Jimmy Petrondi.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11 AM from The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Chaplain Phil Cherry officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Thomas to either the Glenmoore Fire Company, PO Box 550, Glenmoore, Pa.  19343-0550 or Elverson EMS, PO Box 154, Elverson, Pa.  19520-0154.

Wendy, I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. At 85 years old, he lived a long life, for sure. How nice to see that he served his community in the same manner that you have and that he passed his legacy down to you. How proud he must be that both you and Jim continued the work he did.
