
Kathryn S. Styer, 93 yrs., of Honey Brook, passed into eternal life, with her family by her side, on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Meadows Health Care Center at the Tel Hai Retirement Community.
She was born in Voganville, Lancaster Co., Pa. on March 7, 1922. Kathryn was the daughter of the late Nathan and Katie (Leisey) Good. She was the wife of the late Kenneth I. Styer, who died in 1999.
Kathryn was a homemaker to her beloved family. She was a machine operator for the former Superior Lingerie Co. in Blue Ball for over 30 years. Kathryn was a member of the California EC Church, where she was a devoted Sunday school teacher and the church organist & pianist. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, cooking and travel. Kathryn was also a member of the Honey Brook American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Honey Brook Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Honey Brook Ladies Club, Honey Brook Sr. Citizens, and the former Honey Brook Christian Woman’s Club.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry K. Styer in 2013 and two brothers, N. Eugene Good and Ralph Good.
Surviving are a son, Donald E. (Jeanne) Styer of Morgantown and two daughters Joyce K. (Christian) Beiler of Ridgeville, SC and Cheryl A. (John) Hutchinson of Denver and a daughter in law, Amy Lou Styer of Morgantown. There are five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11AM from the Chapel of the Tel Hai Retirement Community, 3100 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, Pa. with Pastor Chris Mann and Pastor David Menning officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at the Churchtown Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Kathryn to California EC Church, 350 California Road, Morgantown, Pa. 19543.
