Kenneth R. "Kenny" Ranck, Jr.

Kenneth R. “Kenny” Ranck, Jr., 73 yrs., of Elverson, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at home.

He was born on Wednesday, July 14, 1948 in Coatesville. Kenny was the son of the late Kenneth R. Sr., and Pauline Elizabeth (Smith) Ranck. He was the husband of Tootie (Mohr) Ranck, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

He was a self-employed painter by trade. Kenny enjoyed deer and pig processing. He enjoyed time spent in the butcher shop with friends and family. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, the Rajah Shriners of Reading, Howel Masonic Lodge # 405 of Honey Brook, Chestnut Hill Field Archers, A.J. Bird Memorial VFW Home Association of New Albany, Pa., Sleepy Hollow A.C. and Victor Emmanuel II of Reading.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Rhode.

Kenny is survived by his son, Toby (Kendra) Ranck of Mohnton, two daughters, Micki (Scott Ryan) Ranck of Elverson and Mandy (Nate) Stoudt of Elverson, and a brother, Ed (Joann) Ranck of Downingtown. There are five grandsons, Jaelin, Alec, Cameron, Colton, & Julian and several nieces and nephews.

Pappy loved his family and friends. Let’s face it, he even loved strangers. He loved food, all food, and feeding anyone and everyone. He was so well known for his scrapple. He loved the mountains, hunting, fishing, taking car rides, the beach (when he had his boat) and visiting and talking to family and friends. Most of all, he gave his heart and everything he had in him, to Gram, his kids and those 5 grandsons of his. They truly pumped sunshine into his life.

A masonic service conducted by Howell Lodge #405 will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 11 AM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa. A calling hour will be held on Sunday from 1 to 3 PM and on Monday from 9:30 to 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Tootie, The words could never convey the sadness that I feel for your loss. Kenny was always “one of a kind.” The memories through these years as I think of Ken are always met with a smile! From seventh grade to our senior year he was always the one to bring a smile. Years at TV Pool- he was the cannonball! My dad always enjoyed Kenny and found him to be one of the most personable people he ever dealt with! George Cook never gave that title easily!?? My thoughts and prayers are with you. May your happy memories give you the strength you will need. Love, Peggy

when your heart is filled with sorrow, there is little friends can do, for time alone can ease the loss of one so dear to you. but if the thought that others care, can help in any way , please know that my thoughts are there with you today. time helps to ease the sorrow, that parting brings, but leaves untouched the memories of happy treasured things ,so through the days that follow may memories held dear continue blooming in your heart, to keep your loved one near. I often think about boating in the north east river, with you and Ken, you both taught me how to ski. fun times.
