Charles J. Phenneger

Charles J. Phenneger, 89 yrs. of Narvon, formerly of Morgantown, died on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Hickory House Nursing Home, following an illness.

He was born in Honey Brook on Monday, August 28, 1933. Charles was the son of the late Arthur Clair and Sara Frances (Yelk) Phenneger. He was the husband of the late Barbara L. “Bobby Lou” (Spence) Phenneger, who died on March 3, 2020.

Charles was the former owner of the General Wayne Inn of Honey Brook, and later working at the Chester County Solid Waste Authority. He was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Honey Brook American Legion Wawassan Post # 422, the Howell Lodge # 405, F.&A.M., and a lifetime member of the Honey Brook Fire Company. Charles enjoyed woodworking.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Hatton and eight brothers and sisters.

Surviving is a son, Michael Hatton of Morgantown, three daughters, Terri (Guy) Ziegler of Mohnton, Debra (Joe) White of Birdsboro, and Barbara (Butch) Himes of Narvon, and a daughter in law, Judy Hatton of Narvon. There are 12 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

A private service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
